However, the problem seems to be fixed through some boot up check. This week when rebooting my computer, instead of booting it scanned my C drive or something.
I'm not sure what it was, but it had 3 stages. After it finished doing that, my Office's "Save As" and "Open" functions worked as they should. No idea what happened, but it's fixed somehow. I didn't try a re-install or creating a new user since it fixed itself before I had the time, so I don't know what the solution is past "Windows did a system check when booting and fixed itself automatically.
