That is not what I'm looking to do. OneDrive can be a useful back location, but with the way that the OneDrive syncs the files between the computer and the cloud, the "backup" is susceptible to being deleted, corrupted, encrypted, etc.
It is a mistake to think that files saved to OneDrive are safe. That is why I want to make sure that I am automatically backing them up. Nice story? My point remains. Sure, I might restore an older version of the file, by mistake or out of necessity, but at least I will have a file to work from. If I am infected with malware that corrupts the file local copy and on OneDrive then I am starting over from the beginning.
Generally, something is better than nothing. I do understand what you are saying, but I don't think that you understand what I am trying to do. I don't want to make a backup that would be "automatically restored" like you suggested in your reply. All I want is a backup that is created periodically that will give me an offline version of the files I have saved on OneDrive in the event that those files on OneDrive become unusable.
Again, I realize that I can copy them manually, I was just hoping that there was a way that they could be backed up in the same way that my hard drive files are backed up using File History. It doesn't appear like that is possible so I'll look into other options. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.
